“Haunting and compelling,” Ginger Dellenbaugh’s music has been described as “a mix of country and garage avant-garde.” From a traditional club gigs with a band, to art installations, to shows with orchestra and choir, Ginger has explored the boundaries of classical and pop performance with experimental ensemble formations and musical formats. Between 2006 and 2015, she performed at international festivals like AmericanaFest, the Tin Pan South Songwriters Festival, and Linz09, and at venues including The Bluebird Cafe, The Belcourt Theater, Grimey’s Nashville, The Arena (Vienna), Kunsthaus Bregenz, and the BAWAG foundation. Notable recordings include sessions at the historic House of David studio in Nashville, the Soundbakery, Vienna, and at FM4 Heartbeat (Austrian Radio). With the band formation Waitstill Baxter, she recorded the Highway EP (2006) and toured in Europe and the United States. In 2015, Ginger released Pastorale, a solo project of original compositions featuring choir, pedal steel guitar, and an ensemble of strings and brass. Embers and Ashes, a remaster of early recordings and demo tracks, is set for release in 2025.
